Just a note to document:
More spotting. Less quantity than before. Probably same reason Sunday. *ahem* *blush*

8 weeks 3 days
Well, I had my OB history appt today. Very anti-climatic. An hour of "let's play 100 questions about your private life, your female reproductive system, and every genetic disease know to mankind". Then, seven...yes, SEVEN...vials of blood.
Our OB practice is down a doc so the practice's competition across town is covering them one night a week and one weekend a month 'til further notice. *eyes rolling* So, I could get a complete stranger delivering Böna! Nice.
And, they have a nurse practitioner in there in the meantime. Hope she's better than the midwife from when I was pregnant with Flicka.
Oh, and if we want the ultrasound next week (which used to be "standard") we have to pay out of pocket...$250! *sigh*
Good news? They have a 3D machine but don't charge it as such since they can't always get the pretty pictures everyone expects.
$250 doesn't sound too bad at this point just for peace of mind.
I'm still a mess emotionally...this 8th-9th week really stinks for me since for some reason I'm still clinging to the memory of the baby we lost at 8 weeks in 2002...in August. *sigh* Plus, an upsetting email - the two combined makes for a very hormonal, overly emotional momma.
Next appt: Thursday, August 7th @ 9w4d.

OB history appt tomorrow. Let the blood letting and the 100 invasive/embarassing questions commence! LOL
But, also have on my mind that it appears in the last two years since we had Pojke that we will have the option for the genetic testing NOW during first triemster instead of having to wait until 2nd trimester.
Due to that, need to do some thinking about whether to take the testing this time. And, the testing may also mean getting an ultrasound as early as next week. At least I think.
Lots to consider and decide in the next 48 hours...
Also, noticed my tummy (near the hernia spot) being very tender yesterday while juggling the bouncing the alundry basket on my belly yesterday.
Later: Taking out the trash - noticed the sore tummy muscles while the recycle bin was bouncing off my belly as I walked.
And, my love/hate with the morning sickness: I hate being sick but at least I know I'm still pregnant...
Just really nervous about tomorrow and not finding out any bad news.

A dot of spotting today - probably nothing due to the marital relations in the last 24 hours - but something worth noting in case of problems later this week.
Later that day: no additional spotting.

Spent from Tuesday night until Friday morning *really* sick. Lost 5 lbs this week. And, if one more person tells me that since I was never sick with the Vikings that I *must* be having twins this time, I'm gonna claim the maternity defense and beat them up! LOL
Been also contemplating making maternity clothes - at least tops - this time around.
Been feeling the pull of muscle around my stomach/ab hernia. Kinda weird to be so early but I guess it *is* a weak spot.
Look down at my stomach this week while in the shower and notice the hernia spot bulging at little already...twins, anyone? *eyes rolling*
Have first OB appt on Wednesday then see Dr. B a week from Thursday.

Been feeling pretty good...thus no posts due to worrying or sickness. LOL
Got hit last night at 3:30am with "multi-directional intestinal problems." Feeling dizzy and queasy again too. And, while it's been nearly 20 years ago, I remember enough to know that this feels remarkably like a really bad hangover.
Luckily, today is Tuesday and hopefully the Vikings will be hanging out at their grandparents' house today.
And, a week from tomorrow is my first OB appointment: the appt with the nurse to take all my history and become a pincushion again.

Ahhh, blessed naptime! Finally! I am sooooo sick today...constantly. Blech! Temp of 88 with a heat index of 100+ doesn't help. Thanking God a thousand times over for central air...thank You, thank You, thank You.
Now if I could just get DaHubby to bring me something cold and chocolately on his way home from work...*wink*

Still having trouble shaking the feeling that something is wrong. Not that I'm focusing all on the negative...but, for now, I can't shake the fear that I will go into the OB office 2 weeks from today and find out Böna is already in heaven.

Until tonight, feeling pretty good. The heat and lack of sleep finally caught up mid-afternoon. DaHubby's doing up what's normally MY last load of dishes and I think we're going to bed. Have a headache - could be pg or non-pg related - and I'm just feeling so hot and sticky when the thermostat says it's actually nice in here. LOL
Started feeling when seemed to be a strain on my stomach muscles today getting up from the couch and while trying to lay on my stomach in bed to read yesterday. Could be something. Probably nothing.
16 days 'til the "blood letting" i.e. the OB history appt with the OB RN at our practice. *sigh* With Flicka, it took 10+ pokes to get all the tubes filled. Let's hope this one is like the one with Pojke - went to the hospital instead and one stick and done!

Be careful what you wish for...
I spent Wednesday obsessing that I didn't "feel" pregnant - so maybe something is wrong. Well, I spent the entire day yesterday ready to throw up. Oddly, eating lunch helped keep it at bay but I am now planning the afternoons for naps (and I mean MINE) instead of a time to get things done! LOL

Having a lot of fears set in...
when I miscarried, the baby stopped growing this week of the pregnancy
the muscle spasm in my arm reminds me of how an old roommate from college laid down to take a nap during her 3nd trimester and passed away
gray hairs and old "baby fat" remind me how old I am and the risks that are involved
my chronic back pain - already just tolerable each day - and how it'll gradually get worse and worse...
On another note, I have a three-fold cycle going on each day already with my digestive tract: morning queasies, before-dinner queasies, and evening heartburn! LOL Oh, TUMS, take me away!

Went to go drag out my old pregnancy books...What To Expect and the others...and I must have sold them! LOL Can't find them anywhere.
Since I'm so lucky to have such easy pregnancies, I'm really enjoying this again. I feel icky but I'm enjoying the "glow".
Got my first "so do you know what you are having?" LOL At 5 weeks? Not exactly. LOL
Been thinking about how to set up the mini-van come spring. As much as we are kicking ourselves for buying that van (CHEETAH!), it looks like it'll be put to good use now. I'm guessing Flicka will go in the back row with Pojke and Böna in the middle row. Another option would be Böna in middle with the other two in the back and we remove the remaining middle seat for space to move around and put the bags.
Just occurred to me today that I will be carrying a diaper bag for ANOTHER 2-3 years! *eyes rolling*
I have too much gray hair for this! LOL

Apparently it is inevitable with this pregnancy as it's been with the others, I have a cold. I *always* get some kind of sore throat/cold that makes me feel like crud for at least two weeks during first trimester.
This sore throat has been around since last Thursday and doesn't seem to be getting any better.
Finally got my prenatals from Meijer. They were called in on Thursday but no one called to tell me they couldn't fill them since I was a "newbie" to Meijer's computers. Couldn't someone pick but the phone for Pete's sake? *eyes rolling*
But, hey, nothing beats walking out of a store with about $15 in meds and not having to pay for them! LOL Wa-hoo!

Left another message on the nurse line at Dr. B re: prenatals. Still no call back. Going into a holiday weekend tomorrow. Gonna have to call and shake someone up on Monday.
Called my parents. My mom responded with some shock and concern but is ultimately thrilled. My dad sounded really excited.
The heartburn has started already. Immediately invested in some TUMS.

Well, I called the OB's office today. First appointments are now scheduled for:
July 30 - OB history (8w3d)
August 7 - With Dr. B (9w1d)
Requested the prescription for prenatal vitamins to be called in for Meijers - haven't heard anything yet.
We tell my in-laws...via a text message while sitting next to them at McDonald's after church. DaGrandma had just got a new phone. DaHubby was setting her settings for her. I sent the text from my phone and then we asked her if she knew if she had text messaging. As DaHubby showed her how to use it, the following message came in:
"Guess what? You are gonna be a grandma again! Congrats!"
At first they didn't believe us. Thought we were joking them. Then, they were thrilled.

4 weeks 1 day: a happy announcement
Day 31 of my cycle and I decided to POAS. And, I'm stunned to see the immediate "plus" pop up on the test.
DaHubby and I had just started talking about and getting out heads around the idea of our family being done. We both turned 40 within the last 7 months. Flicka will be a gorgeous five in the spring; Pojke's almost ready to tackle potty training.
It took nearly two days to come to grips with this new adventure God was sending us on.
From my other blog...
NOW we know that this will truly be our last - DaHubby's already joking about go to "the boy doctor" my first week post partum so we can be "out of commission" at the same time. LOL So, instead of fretting as I did when pregnant with Pojke whether this will be the last time or not I'll be going through this miraculous adventure, I want to document this last pregnancy with this blog.

For those of you unfamiliar with my history, this is really a miracle at God's hands. I spent many years fighting infertility. Flicka's conception occurred on the 25th cycle of attempts. The number 5 (a Biblical symbol for grace) and its multiples have been a reoccurring theme in DaHubby's and my marriage.
Pojke was another complete and utter shock. We found out about that pregnancy on our anniversary: 5-5-05. History of infertility, nursing Flicka still, and POOF! God worked a wonder. I was pregnant.
And, now, using the same methods as always during that same time of month to avoid getting pregnant...and POOF!
